Srinagar Police urge public to disassociate from IuM, AAC | KNO

Srinagar, Apr 30 (KNO): Srinagar Police on Wednesday led a public awareness campaign across the City, urging citizens to disassociate themselves from the Itehad-ul-Muslimeen and the Awami Action Committee (AAC). The loudspeaker announcements and poster campaigns were carried out at multiple locations in the city. According to the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), police vehicles equipped with loudspeakers was seen traversing various localities, including key areas like Lal Chowk and Karan Nagar. Through these public address systems, authorities called on the general public to stay away from the two organisations. Additionally, posters carrying the same message were pasted on walls, poles, and other public spots in several neighborhoods. The posters reportedly warn citizens against associating with the Itehad-ul-Muslimeen and AAC, reiterating the police’s advisory. Officials also stated the move is part of a broader awareness campaign aimed at educating the public about certain groups and their affiliations. Meanwhile, the campaign is said to be continuous for the past few days across multiple zones of Srinagar city and may expand in the coming days. Eyewitnesses said that police personnel not only made announcements via mobile units but also took steps to physically post warning notices in marketplaces and residential areas.
